Restore Your Vehicle’s Finish with Precision and Shine

Paint correction is the process of removing the swirls, scratches, and water spots from your paint to reveal the high gloss and clarity. Your car or truck will look like-new after the service. And it’ll have even more shine and protection if you apply a ceramic coating to your paint.

This is achieved by machine polishing with a combination of pads and compounds. And the main goal is to remove those imperfections from your paint while removing the little clear coat that we need to get the job done.

Because if you take things too far and get too aggressive, you can burn through the clear coat and the only solution is to get it resprayed. But that’s why we’re the go-to experts in Maui for paint correction and ceramic coatings. We do our due diligence to provide maximum results.

Our Thorough Paint Correction Process

1️⃣ Wash and Dry The Vehicle: We first start by cleaning the wheels and tires, then do a thorough wash to remove the road grime and debris that may interfere with the polishing step later on.

2️⃣ Clay Bar and Iron Decontamination: Next is to make sure we “pull” any of the stuck on debris from the paint that didn’t come out during the initial wash process. This is referred to as above surface contaminants. The clay bar is used to mechanically pull up any stuck debris while the iron decon is made to remove iron fall out from the vehicle.

3️⃣ Inspect Paint and Test Spot: Now that the paint is free of road grime or contaminants, we can inspect the paint to see what we’re working with. We’ll measure the paint with a paint thickness gauge to get a better idea of the “health” of the clear coat (this tells us how aggressive we can get in certain areas).

4️⃣ Machine Polish Paint: Next is the step that takes the longest and that’s actually polishing your paint to remove those swirls and scratches. This will vary from car to car depending on the size, condition, and the end goal we’re aiming to achieve.

5️⃣ Protect The Paint: Next is to protect your paint with either a sealant that may last for a few months or a ceramic coating that can last for a few years. Not only does this protect your vehicle, but it also adds an additional layer of shine and gloss.

6️⃣ Final Touch-ups: Lastly, it’s time to do all the last bit of touch-ups like dressing the tires, cleaning the glass, and wiping down the door jambs.

We also have interior detailing services and headlight restoration services available.

Different Paint Correction Options

We offer two different types of paint correction services based on your vehicle’s condition, your budget, and the desired results you’re wanting to achieve.

A two-step correction is aimed to remove 85% or more of the swirls and scratches in your paint. This is for vehicles that are heavily swirled or possibly with vehicles that have a very hard clear coat to work with.

A one-step polish is aimed to remove 50% to 70% of the swirls based on the condition and clear coat that your paint has. This is great if you’re looking for a refresh to get the paint back up to standard or if your vehicle is already in good condition and you need a “Spring” polishing.

There’s no right or wrong answer to which service you choose. It’s all based on what you want to achieve. If you’re going to sell your car and you want to prep it for sale, you probably don’t need an extensive two-step correction but maybe a one-step polish or even a clay and seal will be better for you.

Paint Correction FAQs

How long does it last after I get my car polished?
The key part to keeping your car swirl-free and glossy is by how you maintain it. This comes down to properly washing and drying your vehicle at least once a month if possible. We can spend 20 hours polishing your car, but if you use low quality wash mitts and drying towels with the wrong techniques, then you’ll just add all the swirls back into the paint. That’s not what we want.

Do you come to me or do I drop off my car?
We offer mobile services to Maui and surrounding areas! But if you’d like to drop off your vehicle at our home-garage, that can also be done. For some vehicles, based on the condition and how long we’ll need to work on it, it’s better if you drop off your vehicle.

Does paint correction help protect my car from fading in Hawaii’s intense sunlight?
If you leave anything out in the sun for too long, it will fade and dry out. It’s no different with your vehicle for both the interior and exterior. So if your main goal is to protect your paint, then a ceramic coating or clay and seal can help you achieve that.

How much does paint correction cost? Do you have any package options?
The condition of the vehicle and size of the vehicle are two main determining factors to how much it will cost for this service. Each car, even if it’s the same make and model, can need two different levels of services. Generally speaking, prices can range between $450 to $1,500+.

That’s why we tailor the service to what you need for your vehicle. There’s no one-size fits all approach. We can inspect your vehicle, perform a test spot, show you different outcomes, and then you choose what best fits your needs.
